Serengeti Migration Safari


Introduction

The Landrover Suites are full working Land Rovers that, once in-situ, fold out into a stunning home. From the beautiful elevated bedroom with its balcony looking out to the wilderness, to the wood panelled bathroom, no screw has been left unturned to smooth your outdoor living. You will have the modern comforts of solar powered hot water, lights and power sockets to recharge your batteries. What more could you want?


Most importantly, unlike fixed camps and lodges, the Bush Rovers move to the right places to provide the safari of a lifetime, to experience splendid isolation in total comfort. 



Blessed with a spectacular array of wildlife and the world's largest migration circuit, the Serengeti is ultimate safari country. This adventure lets you witness the unbeatable natural phenomenon of over one million wildebeest making their journey from the Maasai Mara, from the exclusive luxury of a Lanrover suite. The camp will be set up at the heart of the migration, in a site specially chosen following years of research and knowledge, to make sure guests have an amazing experience but one they share with nobody else.

Suggested Itinerary

Day 1
Your safari begins at Mwanza airport. On arrival you will be met and transfer to the Little Okavango Camp nestled between The Serengeti and Lake Victoria, 
On arrival at Mwanza airport, meet your guide and then transfer by road to Little Okavango camp, so-called because of its proximity to narrow water channels full of tall Papyrus grasses which feed down to the expanse of Lake Victoria. The driving will take you about 2 hours passing through the unusual city of Mwanza known as the “Rock City”, due to its huge boulders scattered across the wider landscape. Arrive at the intimate Little Okavango Camp in time for lunch. In the late afternoon, head out on a gentle canoe ride on the waterways around Victoria Island, and out onto the lake itself. In the evening, relax by the campfire before dinner beneath the stars.



Day 2
Awake at dawn for a quick cup of tea or coffee and head out onto the vast Lake Victoria by motor boat and explore the lakeside for fantastic birdlife, hippos and crocs right up to the fishing village of Mwaburugu- meet local boat builders from the Sukuma tribe and watch life on the lakeside with the men bringing in their catch. The tour lasts for 4 - 5 hours and gives a fascinating insight into life on the lake. Return for a lovely brunch at the Little Okavango amazing tower. Climb the 3 decks – the Weaver deck, the Lake deck and the Serengeti deck and take in the views over brunch before getting back on the boat to meander the short distance back to camp. After lunch and a rest, go for a bike ride through the open bush and village farms between the Serengeti boundary and the lake.



Day 3
After a leisurely breakfast, leave the camp and travel by game drive vehicle into Serengeti for the start of your fantastic wildlife safari.  Explore the wildlife rich areas of the western corridor arriving at the most unique and innovative safari camp set in the heart of wildlife activity. The Bush Rover suites are full working Land Rovers which open out into unique accommodation complete with flush toilet, shower and bath.   Each suite has solar power lights and hot water. Meals are served in a comfortable dining mess tent & bar area.  This exclusive camp offers a private, unique and exclusive way to experience perhaps the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth.



Day 4 – 6
Explore the game rich areas of Serengeti and marvel at the greatest safari spectacle in the world. Tanzania is blessed with an incredible array of safari experiences, but the Serengeti, with its magnificent migrating herds and huge population of predators, is unbeatable. 



Each day you’ll embark on a morning game drive in search of an array of wildlife including lions, cheetah, leopard and buffalo. Return to the camp and relax in the mess tent or from the balcony of your Bush Rover suite taking in the amazing views before heading out on an afternoon game drive as the sun goes down. Overnight at the Bush Rover migration camp.



Day 7
After breakfast, game drive back to Lake Victoria for your last night at Little Okavango Camp. Enjoy fantastic sights from the tower some 25 metres tall with viewing decks where guests can have brunch, lunch or late afternoon drinks whilst taking in the lovely views. In the late afternoon, head out for bird walk. Dinner and overnight.



Day 8
Today, transfer to Mwanza airport for onward flight home, or for those wishing to extend a flight to Dar es Salaam and onward journey.
